Functional Medicine
Objective testing, based on blood work, is crucial to making a precise health diagnosis. The Tennessee Valley’s Leader in Drug-free, Non-Surgical Treatments of Low Back, Spine, Knee, and Joint Pain.
What is Orthopedic Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine is the holistic approach to medicine that focuses on locating and handling the root or underlying cause of complex or chronic illnesses and diseases. Functional medicine doctors and practitioners use specialized testing and techniques to locate the underlying or root cause for pain or illness.
Pharmaceutical medicine and over-the-counter drugs are designed to block normal biostructural/biochemical function and are therefore symptomatic in approach. Current research has proven that chemical imbalances, such as disruption in blood chemistry values, can be a cause of structural problems such as low back pain and vice versa. Objective testing enables the doctors to address metabolic imbalances and make nutritional recommendations based on your specific genetics.
Although meridian stress analysis, also known as muscle testing, quickly and accurately assesses the primary cause of a patient’s health challenge it does not tell the severity of the problem. Through blood testing the severity of the problem can be revealed as well as how long it will take to improve.
Testing
These tests performed at Quest Laboratory provide vital information, some of which cannot be accurately gleaned from a patient history, urinalysis, and biomechanical exam. Therefore blood chemistry is an invaluable tool used to restore your connective tissue health.
